Keep your Manufactured Home Cool this Summer!
There are so many things to love about summer. The family picnics, the festivals, the pool parties. Summer is synonym of FUN! But there’s one thing that no one enjoys about this time of year – HIGH utility bills!
Keeping your home cool without abusing the A/C can be a challenge during the hot days of summer. This summer try these tips and tricks to keep your cool and keep your electric bill cost down!
Close the Blinds
Close your window blinds and keep direct sunlight out of your home to reduce your energy consumption and prevent the “greenhouse effect” in your home.
Do Your Chores ….at Night!
Big appliances such as your dishwasher, washer, and dryer, emit heat when used. To prevent these appliances to heat your home, try loading them during the day and running them at night. You will notice the difference!
Grill More, Bake Less
If you live in one of our manufactured homes in Texas – you are probably NOT baking anything during the summer. Using your oven during the hot summer days can heat up your home quickly and it will be very difficult to cool it down. Try grilling instead – even better if it’s by the pool!
Use Fans
Set your ceiling fans to turn counterclockwise during the summer months. This will push cool air downward and you’ll instantly feel cooler.
Be Mindful of Your Bedding
Try replacing your bedding with cotton or bamboo sheets which will absorb sweat and are more breathable.
Jump in the Pool!
If everything fails and the heat becomes too much to handle – jump in the pool! The residents at Roberts Communities typically beat the heat at the resort-like pools and water splash pads in our communities.
